Launch of a collection of essays to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Colin Ward, influential anarchist writer, educator and urbanist, author of the Child in the City and many other books.
Contributors Martin Stott and Roman Krznaric will be in conversation with Brenda Stones. Other contributors to the book include well known writers Ken Worpole, Sheila Rowbotham and Patrick Wright, as well as Ward’s biographer Sophie Scott-Brown.
Through his immense work over many decades on towns and cities, transport, the theory and practice of anarchism, housing, work, play, children, environmental education and much more he influenced and inspired many people. This collection of new essays shows the way Ward’s ideas contributed to the lives and work of those who knew him as a colleague as well as those who read his books and articles and put his ideas into practice.
